Lecture and discussion: Performative Politics of Design
31 August at 6.30 pm
For a fortnight, Ruedi and Vera Baur, together with guests from the Civic City network, are organising a workshop as part of the “Summer School” at Museum für Angewandte Kunst, Frankfurt that focuses on a critical attitude towards design:
This is about dealing with non-knowledge as scuola de non sapere (www.civic-city.org/non-sapere).
Can we represent non-knowledge without reducing the openness and complexity of the issues represented?
What do we not know? What do we not want to know? What have we forgotten? Where do we simulate a knowledge and where does design assert itself? How can design, on the contrary, open up possibilities, open new potentials and enable diversity?
Examples from current projects will illustrate the discussion.
Lecture and discussion will take place on 31 August at 6.30 pm. Drinks at the bar afterwards. Admission is free of charge. More information about the programme can be found in our bio.
