Akinbode Akinbiyi aus Berlin ist ein mehrfach ausgezeichneter Fotograf, Autor, Dichter und Chronist. Seine analoge Street Photography zeigt das Alltägliche, Momenthafte und Flüchtige in der Stadt.
Melanie Botzki leitet die Stabstelle Kulturmanagement im Kulturdezernat der Landeshauptstadt Hannover. Sie hat sie deren Bewerbung als Kulturhauptstadt Europas 2025 federführend umgesetzt.
Christopher Dell aus Berlin ist Improvisations-, Stadt- und Raumforscher, Autor und Dozent sowie international renommierter Vibraphonist, Komponist und Träger des Deutschen Jazzpreises.
Sabine Hirsch beschäftigt sich als Designerin in Hannover mit räumlicher Kommunikation. Sie entwickelte die Space-Expander-Box als Werkzeug für partizipatives, improvisierendes Entwerfen.
Im diesem Urbanen Salon präsentiert der preisgekrönte Vibraphonist, Komponist und Improvisationstheoretiker Christopher Dell zunächst eine Lecture Performance mit Instrument und Bücherstapel. Im Anschluss diskutiert er seine Thesen zu Stadt und Improvisation mit dem zurzeit im Kunstverein Hannover ausstellenden Fotografen Akinbode Akinbiyi, in dessen Kunst Intuition und Spontaneität zentral sind, der Kulturmanagerin Melanie Botzki, die sich aktuell im Rahmen des Kulturdreiecks Hannover mit Begegnungs- und Diskursräumen auseinandersetzt, und der Designerin Sabine Hirsch, aus deren Masterarbeit an der Hochschule Hannover ein niedrigschwelliges Improvisations-Instrument hervorging.

Akinbode Akinbiyi from Berlin is an award-winning photographer, author, poet and chronicler. His analogue street photography shows the everyday, the momentary and the fleeting in the city.
Melanie Botzki is head of the cultural management staff unit in the cultural department of the state capital Hanover. She was in charge of the city’s bid to become European Capital of Culture 2025.
Christopher Dell from Berlin is an improvisation, urban and spatial researcher, author and lecturer as well as an internationally renowned vibraphonist, composer and winner of the German Jazz Award.
Sabine Hirsch is a designer in Hanover who specialises in spatial communication. She developed the Space Expander Box as a tool for participatory, improvised design.
In this Urban Salon, the award-winning vibraphonist, composer and improvisation theorist Christopher Dell will first present a lecture performance with an instrument and a stack of books. He will then discuss his theses on the city and improvisation with the photographer Akinbode Akinbiyi, who is currently exhibiting at the Kunstverein Hannover and in whose art intuition and spontaneity are central, the cultural manager Melanie Botzki, who is currently working on spaces for encounters and discourse as part of the Kulturdreieck Hannover, and the designer Sabine Hirsch, whose master’s thesis at Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts resulted in a low-threshold improvisation instrument.
