Blumer-Dell-Geisser-Morgenthaler depict reality through musical actions whose consequences are unpredictable, thus creating a sonic reflection of human existence.
The strong power of suggestion in their music stays in direct proportion to the strength with which it’s conceived and is a result of the subtlety and freedom of the four musicians’ senses, who explore the relationship between individual and collective identity.
All of them have been part of the European jazz and improv scene for a long time: Morgenthaler, Blumer and Geisser have been persistently creating new soundscapes in Ensemble 5 for over ten years, while Dell has been developing “neue Neue Musik” with his collective Dell-Lillinger-Westergaard. The quartet emerged from the collaboration between Ensemble 5 and Christopher Dell, which is documented in the current album “The Human Factor” on Hat Hut Records.
