Improvisation als urbane Praxis – das erforscht Christopher Dell. Er ist Professor für Urban Design und einer der virtuosesten Improvisatoren der Republik. Wenn er mit den Schlegeln über sein Instrument flitzt, hat er mehr im Sinn: Wie gestalten improvisierte Klänge die Stadt? Der Vibrafonist ist ein passionierter Städteforscher. Dell sagt: “Wir sind die Stadt, wir machen die Stadt, auch durch Musik, lebendig und ständig neu.” Das erklärt er auch gern beim Spielen. Improvisation as urban practice – that’s what Christopher Dell explores. He is a professor of urban design and one of the most virtuoso improvisers in the republic. When he whizzes his mallets over his instrument, he has more on his mind: how do improvised sounds shape the city? The vibraphonist is a passionate urban researcher.
