The editors of the book ‘Piazza Spinelli – Übungsraum für die Stadt’, Sally Below and Christopher Dell, present the contents of the book, provide insights into the development of the Spinelli FreiRaumLab and address a new and cooperative planning culture in this context.
In dialogue with them are: Ralf Eisenhauer, Mayor for Building, Planning, Infrastructure, Urban Renewal, Housing, Transport and Sport; Prof. Stefan Rettich, Department of Urban Planning at the University of Kassel; Thorsten Riehle, Mayor for Economics, Labour, Social Affairs and Culture. Moderation: Friederike Meyer, BauNetz, architecture journalist
The book Piazza Spinelli – Übungsraum für die Stadt was published by JOVIS Verlag in July and presents the work of the Spinelli FreiRaumLab network.
The editors want to show how a cooperative methodology for dealing with complex urban situations can be created with cross-institutional negotiations, innovative reutilisation concepts, the generation of publicity and interventions on a 1:1 scale. Experts from various disciplines contribute to the discourse with specialist articles and interviews.
