The festival ‘Intersecting Encounters’ will take place at Kühlhaus Berlin on 31 August 2024 to open the month of contemporary music. Dell-Lillinger-Westergaard, vocal artist Sofia Jernberg, the Sonar Quartet, pianist Tamara Stefanovich, Trio Catch and members of the Zafraan Ensemble will come together for the event. They come together in a variety of constellations and explore the boundaries between composition and improvisation, between closed and open form and between instrumental and vocal music.
They will perform new co-compositions and existing works by Berg, Bertrand, Chin, Dell, Ivičević, Jernberg, Lillinger, Odeh-Tamimi, Schönberg, Sonar, Stefanovich, Webern and Westergaard, among others. The programme is rounded off by two discussion rounds that provide an insight into the collaboration between the participants. In the spacious cube and in the courtyard of Kühlhaus Berlin, everyone is also invited to get into conversation with and among each other – initially over coffee and cake, later over cold drinks and snacks.
