new release “Ruptures” with Søren Kjærgaard

out from today! very happy to announce that “Ruptures” the duo recording with the great Danish pianist and composer Søren Kjærgaard is released today on the Copenhagen cutting edge label ILK Music! Thanks to everyone to make this recording possible, especially the team of ILK and the team of Koncertkirken Copenhagen! It was a joy to work and record there!

Recorded live during a performance at Koncertkirken in Copenhagen, a celebrated venue known for its unique acoustic properties, this album captures authentic musical improvisation offering a rich tapestry of sound that is both innovative and immersive.

It was only by coincidence, thanks to an attentive sound technician, that the late night concert was recorded on the stationary mic set up at Koncertkirken. Hence, this is not a hi-fi studio recording, but an authentic concert documentation of a special improvised moment, marking also the first duo meeting between Kjærgaard and Dell.

As such, the album echoes the energy of their live performance, unveiling the duo’s remarkable artistry and their ability to engage in intricate dialogue through their instruments. With no predetermined structures, their collaborative approach results in an innovative blend of multi-layered textures that evolve organically, reflecting both the spontaneity and the depth of their creative synergy. Each track unfolds with a sense of exploration and discovery, as Kjærgaard and Dell demonstrate a shared capacity to sustain the music’s momentum, inviting the audience into a world where technical skill intertwines with profound sonic awareness.
